M C Building Services
Looking for a builder in Taunton, Wellington or Bridgwater? As a leading Somerset building company we can cater for any building, alteration or refurbishment, from small jobs to large.
We focus on project management of any domestic refurbishment, building alterations or new builds. We cover the build using all aspects including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tiling, plastering and damp proofing, and we provide a full kitchen and bathroom fitting, design and installation service.
Matt Critchley started the business around 20 years ago as a one man band. It has now grown to a team of professional tradesmen, with a very strong team of local subcontractors who are fully accredited within their own governing body.
“No job is too big or too small for us to manage.”
What we do
Kitchen and bathroom fitting, extensions and adaptations, property refurbishment and alterations, plus plastering, carpentry, electrical and plumbing, general building works, decorating and maintenance.
We know that having an extension built is a huge decision to bear and is a large financial commitment. We work closely with you every step of the way, from initial planning right up to after care and advice.
More about extensions & barn conversions
We use local kitchen companies who have their own design team that we can offer a free home visit and design service. We take care of the plastering, electrics, plumbing and carpentry around it too.

What customers say
“Matt has been so helpful, my house sale fell through due to a fire break needed between garage and loft, from the first phone call to the conclusion Matt and his team have been brilliant, great price, fitted me in quickly, and so efficient. If only he sold houses as well🤣 thanks so much, will not hesitate to use again when we move.”
“Matt done an excellent job in replacing my mum's kitchen. He was efficient and neat. Afterwards a couple of things that needed adjusting and he came back very quickly to sort them out. I highly recommend him.”
“M C Builders recently completed a full kitchen renovation for us, which included the removal of a wall (with some tricky complications along the way), installation of a brand new kitchen, and complete decoration. From start to finish, the quality of their work has been outstanding. … The whole team is incredibly well-organised, reliable, and clearly take pride in what they do. Communication was excellent throughout, and any unexpected issues were handled professionally and efficiently. … We're genuinely going to miss having them around when the job's finished.”
